Toy box donations
My husband and I would like to see the faces of the children from local poor families when they are given the boxes of toys donated by local people. Can anyone involved in organizing the day, time and location please announce it in the forum.
Mary
I notice that you are new to putting comments on this Forum, I take it you are new to La Marina, if so,Welcome and I hope you have an enjoyable time here.
I would like to take this opportunity to let you know that we have a Charity shop in La Marina which donates 1000 Euros of food per month to the poor and needy of San Fulgencio.
The shop goes under the Charity of AAN and has a shop just behind the German Bank on the strip.
So if you have time to spare, just take a browse through the shop or just leave a donation, the fact that it can feed people who need help is very satisfying, The shop has the required paperwork, as for being legal and all food is given via the Council and Social Services.
Thank you Alan, yes we are new to La Marina. We read about an appeal for toys as christmas presents for children in need. Scotty, are you an official representative of the charity or the council. Can you please advise why I was told not to include a Peppa Pig toy in the box?
Mary
I am the Press Officer for AAN charity. I cannot trace anyone who has requested no Peppa pigs. Can you please tell me who gave you this information. It was certainly not in my press release.
Scotty,
I gather Mary either got this info. from someone winding her up, or Mary is new to this Forum in name only.
I hope it was someone winding her up. I would hate to think that Mary has gone by a different name on here in the past, and this would be a good time to bring Religion, into the anti certain charity brigade.
Hopefully Mary will put another comment on here, putting me and several other people straight.
I would love to apologise for thinking that perhaps Mary wasn't as new to this forum as she made out
Just out of interest Scotty does AAN the charity. have any forthcoming events? I had a look in the events section but could not see anything listed? It is FREE to post up there. Much better than reading about it after the event. Plus gives us locals a chance of supporting AAN.
Thank you very much for your suggestion Ian. We have posted about our Christmas Fayre tommorow and will continue to use this forum for publicity purposes.
The children who receive the toys are referred through Social Services. To preserve their dignity they are not identified to the general public. I think we can all rest assured that there are many happy smiling faces thanks to the generosity of the people of La Marina.
